1. Who this policy applies to
SnapThen is a mobile app for creating simple visual step-by-step boards using real photos, optional short labels, and optional recorded audio. It is intended for use by parents, carers, and professionals supporting families.
2. Local-only storage
SnapThen is designed to store your board data on your device only. The app does not require an account and does not provide cloud sync as part of the current product.
Information stored on your device may include board names, step order, photos added to boards, optional recorded audio, app settings stored on the device, and purchase access state stored on the device.
3. Photos, labels, and audio
When you add photos or record audio in SnapThen, those files are copied into app-managed storage on your device so the app can use them offline.
Short labels are optional. Audio is optional. SnapThen does not support video in the current app.
4. Export and import
SnapThen supports export and import one board at a time. An exported board package may include the board structure, the photos used in that board, and any optional audio linked to that board.
You control when to export or share a board package. Imported boards are added on the receiving device.
5. Accounts, cloud sync, and data sharing
SnapThen does not require account creation.
SnapThen does not provide cloud sync or online account storage.
SnapThen does not send your normal board data, photos, or audio to us as part of standard app use.
6. Permissions the app may use
Depending on the features you choose to use, SnapThen may request permission for:
- Camera, to take photos for boards
- Photos or files, to choose images and to import or export a board package
- Microphone, to record optional audio for a step
These permissions are used only for the core features they support.
7. Google Play purchase handling
SnapThen uses a one-time Google Play unlock on Android. Purchase processing is handled by Google Play, not by SnapThen directly.
The app may use Google Play purchase status information to confirm whether the app has been unlocked for that Google Play account and device context.
SnapThen does not process payment card details directly.
8. Support contact information
If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your email, such as your email address, message content, and any details you choose to share about your issue.
We use that information only to respond to support requests and keep basic support records where reasonably needed.
9. Children's information
SnapThen is intended to be used by parents, carers, and professionals. It is not a social service for children and does not create child accounts.
Users decide what photos, labels, audio, or exported board packages they create and store on their own devices.
10. Retention and deletion
Because SnapThen stores data on your device, your boards and related content stay there until you delete them, export them, or remove the app.
Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond and maintain basic records.
11. Security
We aim to keep SnapThen privacy-friendly and simple, but no device or software environment can be guaranteed completely secure.
You are responsible for device-level protections such as screen locks, operating system updates, and careful handling of exported board files.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date shown on this page and make the updated policy available through the website or app where appropriate.
