SnapThen is a mobile app for creating visual “now and next” style boards for children using familiar photos and optional recorded audio. The app is intended for use by parents, carers, and relevant professionals.

2. How SnapThen works
SnapThen is designed to work primarily on your device.
Users can:
- create boards
- add photos
- add optional short labels
- record optional audio
- play boards back on the device
- share one board at a time by exporting it and importing it on another device
3. What information the app stores
SnapThen may store the following information on your device:
- board names
- board step data
- photos you add to boards
- optional recorded audio
- app settings
- local PIN settings
- local app state related to purchase access
This information is stored locally so the app can function.
4. Photos and audio
When you add photos or record audio in SnapThen, those files are copied into app-managed local storage on your device so the app can use them offline.
If you choose to use the board sharing feature, SnapThen exports one board at a time into a file package that can include:
- board data
- photos for that board
- optional audio for that board
Imported boards are added as copies. Existing boards are not replaced.
5. Accounts and cloud services
SnapThen does not require you to create an account.
SnapThen does not provide cloud sync or online account storage as part of the current app design.
6. In-app purchases
SnapThen may offer a one-time paid unlock through the relevant app store.
For Android, purchases are handled by Google Play. SnapThen uses purchase status information from Google Play to determine whether the app has been unlocked on that Google account and device.
SnapThen does not process your card details directly.
Payment information is handled by the app store provider under its own terms and privacy policies.
7. Permissions
Depending on the features you use, SnapThen may request access to:
- Camera — to take photos for boards
- Photos / Media / Files — to choose photos and import or export a board file
- Microphone — to record optional audio for steps
These permissions are only used to support the app’s core features.
8. What we collect from you directly
SnapThen is designed to minimise data collection.
We do not require:
- account registration
- profile creation
- social login
If you contact us for support, we may receive the information you include in your email or message.
9. What we share
SnapThen does not sell your personal information.
SnapThen does not share your board data, photos, or audio with us as part of the normal local app experience.
If you choose to export and share a board yourself, that is an action you control.
10. Data retention
Because SnapThen is local-first, your board data, photos, audio, and settings remain on your device unless you delete them or remove the app.
If you email us, we may keep support correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond and maintain basic records.
11. Children’s privacy
SnapThen is intended to be used by parents, carers, and professionals. It is not designed as a social service for children to create accounts or communicate with others.
Users may store photos, audio, or other content relating to a child on their own device. Users are responsible for deciding what content they create, store, export, or share using the app.
12. Security
We aim to keep SnapThen simple and privacy-conscious. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for helping keep your device secure, including:
- using device security features
- keeping your device software up to date
- controlling who can access exported board files
13. Third-party services
SnapThen may rely on third-party platforms or libraries needed to operate app functionality, such as:
- app store billing
- app framework or device APIs
- file sharing or document picker functions
Where third-party services process information, their own terms and privacy policies may also apply.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, make the updated policy available through the app or website.
